Area rugs are a necessity in almost any home.  They add texture and warmth to a room, soften floors, absorb sound, and define separate areas in the floor plan.  A beautiful area rug can make a statement, tie together the color palette, and create visual interest.  One way to design a unique area rug is to use carpet tiles.

The beauty of carpet tiles is their versatility.  By combining tiles, you can create an area rug perfectly suited to any space.  Tiles can be chosen for color, pattern, or texture and arranged in your own clever way.  Using carpet tiles to create an area rug lets you mix and match for just the right look.  You can really play around with different attributes for a finished rug that is completely unique.

I’ve designed a few area rugs for clients using carpet tiles from Flor.  Not only do the rugs look amazing, they are perfect for high traffic areas and homes with children and pets.  Individual tiles can be removed for cleaning or even replaced if you plan ahead and purchase extra tiles.  If you’ve hesitated to use an area rug in the dining room or eat in kitchen, carpet tiles may be the answer!
